Natural Helpers (NH) is a peer-helping program used in schools throughout the United States. It was created in 1979 in Seattle, Washington and has spread across the country to both public and private high school settings. The program is primarily for students in grades 9-12, although some middle schools have adapted the program to fit the needs of younger students.
The Program Creators have graciously allowed LISELF to make the Natural Helpers Program Manual documents available to all schools at no expense. Just click on the Download link next to each section title to download the sections.
The Natural Helpers Program Manual has been divided into a series of documents that you are welcome to view and download.
In April, 2024, a Natural Helpers Information Forum via Zoom was convened by Kevin Carswell, Geri Willmott and their team at the Poughkeepsie Community Action Coalition in NY.(PCAC@equitablefuture.org). The video runs about 90 minutes. Topics and timing guide are provided below.
